Dr Cameron Hendricks
Dr. Cameron has been holidaying in Port Douglas since his childhood, and with the encouragement of his partner, Teegs, who saw the need for a top-quality vet in town, Cameron established Port Douglas Vets. Born in Perth, raised in Melbourne, educated in Wagga, and with his first job on King Island, it took Cameron a bit of travelling to find his Veterinary utopia. Cameron thrives on helping people and pets in tough situations - for him there is no greater satisfaction than helping an animal in need, and relieving the pain and worry of distressed owners. On a professional level, Cameron is all about the challenging stuff - fine soft tissue surgery, complex medical investigations and keeping animals pain free into their twilight years.

Dr Harry Waters
Dr. Harry hails from one of the colder corners of Australia in the high country of NSW. He has been a vet for 15 years across a wide range of Veterinary services, from specialist referral centers to mixed-animal outback practices. He is passionate about bringing quality and a range of services to the pets of Port Douglas. Having grown up on a farm with a menagerie of animals inside and out, he understands how pets contribute to their family's happiness and health. He finds fulfillment in not only helping pets when they are in need, but also in his role as a Veterinarian in pet ownership as a whole.

Jess moved to Port Douglas 7 years ago with her family, looking for a more relaxed lifestyle. After holidaying up here many times, it was time to call Port home. Her previous experience in health care and customer service brings a wealth of personable qualities, along with her compassion and supportive nature, that will have you feeling that you and your pet are in safe hands.

Lacey grew up in Ingham surrounded by animals, inspiring her passion for veterinary care from an early age. Before joining our team, she spent five years working at a veterinary clinic down south, building valuable experience and confidence in her role. Outside of work, Lacey enjoys skiing at the dam, spending time with friends, and creating impressive charcuterie boards. With her calm, compassionate, and down-to-earth nature, Lacey brings a reassuring presence to both our team and your pets, so you can feel confident they're in safe and caring hands.

Growing up in Far North Queensland, Olivia was surrounded by horses, dogs and cats from an early age, fostering a lifelong passion for animal care. Her dedication to learning, combined with a strong desire to support both animals and their owners, naturally led her to pursue a career as a veterinary nurse. Olivia is committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care and takes pride in being a valuable part of the veterinary team.

Megan is one of the friendly faces that makes everyone feel welcome at Port Douglas Vets. She loves getting to know our clients and their pets, and outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and her beautiful Golden Retriever, Chester, who is a very special part of her life.

Nicola is a valued part of our team while taking a gap year before heading off to university. As our kennel hand, she helps our vets and nurses care for the animals in the clinic, from keeping their spaces clean and comfortable to lending an extra hand wherever she’s needed. We’re glad to have her with us for this chapter before she heads off to her next adventure!

Meet Laili, our lovely trainee vet nurse!
Originally from Melbourne, Laili and her family have made the move up north to start a new chapter, bringing along her gorgeous dog Bubsy! When she’s not busy learning all things vet nursing, you might find her out on the water with her dad and brother, and his fishing charter.
Laili has always had a huge love for animals and is so excited to be turning that passion into a career. She’s already a lovely addition to our team, and we’re looking forward to watching her learn, grow and become an amazing vet nurse.
